Metricon is Australia's largest volume home builder with a 50-year track record and multiple HIA Professional Major Builder of the Year awards. Their extensive display home program, broad design range and national reach have made Metricon a first-choice builder for SEQ families across Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Logan and the Redlands.
If you're building with Metricon, an independent inspection is a smart final step before handover — not because of anything specific to Metricon, but because every new home in today's market deserves a fresh, independent set of eyes.
Why Every New Home Benefits From Independent Inspection
The Queensland construction market is operating under sustained, well-documented pressures — material lead times that have stretched since 2021, a tight skilled-labour pool, and subcontractor crews scheduled across many concurrent sites. Even the best-run national builders cannot avoid the reality that finishing trades are working to tight stage-completion windows in a high-volume delivery environment.
That's the context every PCI sits within. An independent QBCC-licensed inspector gives you a calm, objective walk-through against the QBCC Standards and Tolerances and your contract specification — so anything below the line is documented before you sign.
Wet Areas
Wet areas are the highest-value focus on any new home PCI. We measure shower membrane heights against the 1800mm minimum, check coved floor-to-wall junctions, and verify sealant continuity at floor and bath wastes. These checks apply to every new home regardless of builder — the cost of getting them right before handover is a fraction of the cost of fixing them later.
Frame Stage
If you've booked a frame inspection, we work through the engineer's bracing schedule, tiedown placement and roof truss lateral bracing. Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast are designated wind regions, so this stage matters. Anything picked up before plasterboard goes on is the easiest possible rectification.

Book an InspectionFinishing and Contract Items
Paint, tiling, joinery and external works are checked against the QBCC tolerance thresholds. We also walk through your full contract schedule — landscaping, fencing, appliances and selected finishes — and flag anything that's incomplete or different to what you signed for.
What Working With Metricon Looks Like at Inspection
Metricon's site supervisors are generally well-organised and engaged, and access for independent inspectors is straightforward. When a defects list is presented in a clear, QBCC-referenced format with photographs and measurements, Metricon's internal rectification process moves quickly.

When to Book Your Metricon Inspection
For a Metricon PCI, book as soon as you receive your handover notification — ideally 3 to 5 business days before you're due to accept the keys. For stage inspections, ask your site supervisor to give you specific notice when each stage completes.
